Commemorating the centenary of the Anzac landings at Gallipoli.
ZL100ANZAC
Anzac Day, this year, April 25, marks the 100th anniversary of the first campaign that led to major casualties for Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War. The day is a public holiday (if on a weekend, then the nearest Monday) here in New Zealand, and in Australia too. It now broadly commemorates all Australians and New Zealanders "who served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations" and "the contribution and suffering of all those who have served." Details of Amatuer Radio events can be found on the NZART web site HERE. Other WW100 events in the Wanganui - Manawatu region HERE. The Official Government WW100 Website is HERE.
